About
Abbie Calhoun is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in printmaking, ceramics, and painting. She holds a B.A. in Studio Art from Brigham Young University, with a concentration in relief and screen printing. Her work explores themes of home, the female experience, the surreal, and moments of connection—often through tactile processes that emphasize intuition, imperfection, and material presence.
Rooted in both traditional craft and contemporary inquiry, Abbie’s practice is deeply influenced by storytelling, symbolism, and the physicality of making. In addition to her studio work, she has taught art in community and educational settings, and is passionate about fostering curiosity and creativity in others. She is currently based in Wellington, New Zealand.
